Job Description
Our client requires an SC or DV cleared Forensic Analyst.
The contract will be initially in Kent for 2 weeks where you will undertake specialist training. You will then be deployed to Afghanistan for either 3 or 6 months where you will fulfil the following duties;
- Recover Fingerprints/DNA and other trace material using appropriate treatments in sequential order top reserve evidence for further exploitation at Level 3.
- Provide comparative analysis capability to assist with detainee operations.
- Handle, package and process all evidence in appropriate manner to avoid cross contamination and preserve integrity and continuity of evidence.
- Examine latent marks and identify those of searchable value. Submit to appropriate databases in theatre and in UK over approved communications means.
- Maintain contemporaneous notes throughout examination process and complete appropriate reporting outputs.
You will be working long days - up to 12 hours per day. You will be required to work within the pattern established within the forces and also to provide emergency cover when requested.
Accommodation and food will be provided by deployed forces. Accommodation is likely to be tented with communal wash facilities. Internet access will usually be available but occasionally it will be out of order or unavailable.
You will be required to hold a minimum of SC security clearance. If you do not hold an active SC or DV clearance please familiarise yourself with the vetting process before applying.
